HOWARD (BUD) DEMATTIES, PRESIDENT
Mr. DeMatties received his formal education at Plattsburgh State University, Stonybrook University and Syracuse University. He has also completed several courses at the NYS Fire Academy at Montour Falls, NY and is a NYS Level 1 Certified Fire Investigator (CFI). Mr. DeMatties continues his education with advanced programming courses, and seminars in fire investigation. Mr. DeMatties has also been a guest speaker at several seminars himself over the past twenty years, most recently at the 2015 IAAI Chapter 23 Spring Seminar in Liverpool, NY.
Mr. DeMatties is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), and the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI).
Mr. DeMatties has investigated over 2,000 electrical failures over the past 35 years. The major concentration of his forensic work in product liability has been in electrical fire causation and electric shock analysis. The large majority of these cases range from fire scene investigation, to evidence collection, to controlled laboratory examination and testing. Many of these cases also involve exemplar instrumentation and testing.
Mr. DeMatties has extensive experience in the manufacturing and Research and Development (R&D) fields. As an industrial products project manager, Mr. DeMatties oversaw design, production, purchasing, quality control, testing and troubleshooting of a product line. This experience brings insight into the product design and manufacturing processes and the manner in which manufacturing defects can develop during production.
Complementing his experience in the Research & Development (R&D) field, Mr. DeMatties performed Accelerated Life Cycle Testing (ALCT) and Failure Analysis of electrical and hydraulic equipment. Mr. DeMatties co-authored several documents pertaining to the manner in which the northern climate relates to the design of handicapped bus lifts.
Mr. DeMatties served in the elected position of CEO of JDR Systems Corporation from January 2001 to September 2002.
Mr. DeMatties has testified in state and federal court, as well as arbitrations and depositions.
